IMSE, among the 10 selected to meet with the European Commissioner at the Brussels Science Fair

David Martín, a researcher at our institute, participated in an informal meeting with European Commissioner Ekaterina Zakharieva to discuss the Marie Sklodowska-Curie and ERC programs.

The Science is Wonderful! International Science Fair, organized by the European Commission, was held in Brussels on March 13 and 14. This event brings together cutting-edge projects funded through the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Programme, with the aim of bringing science closer to society and fostering interest in research.

Meeting with the European Commissioner

Not only was IMSE one of the 39 institutions selected to participate in the Fair's stands, but our colleague, researcher David Martín, also represented the Institute at an informal meeting organized by Ekaterina Zakharieva, the European Union's Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation.

A total of 10 people had the opportunity to exchange ideas on research and science in general, addressing key issues related to the Marie Sklodowska-Curie and ERC programs. Commissioner Zakharieva expressed great interest in learning firsthand how these programs are advancing researchers' careers and contributing to scientific advancement in Europe.

About the Fair

This year's Fair featured 39 selected projects from across Europe, including SQPRIM, an initiative developed by IMSE. This project's mission is to explore new methods for strengthening security in digital environments, an area of ??increasing importance in the information age.

To bring cybersecurity closer to the public, IMSE had its own booth titled "The Digital Fortress" where researchers from the Hardware Security Group offered demonstrations and explanations about the importance of protecting our information on the Internet. Over the two days, attendees learned about techniques and tools that help improve online security, thus promoting responsible and secure use of technology.

At IMSE, we continue to strengthen our commitment to research and promote an active role in scientific dissemination as a fundamental aspect of today's society.
