On the occasion of World Industrial and Intellectual Property Day, which is celebrated every year on April 26, the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) has presented a catalog that compiles a hundred of its cutting-edge technologies in areas of knowledge.
In this catalog, there is a patent whose inventors (Yassine Lamouaraa, Jorge Fernández and Ricardo Carmona) belong to our Institute. Specifically, it is a CMOS image sensor that integrates the functions of self-exposure and extension of the dynamic range with the capture of the visual stimulus itself. This means a faster and less expensive image formation process, which is ideal for vision applications that require rapid response, such as drone navigation, security, etc.
