Once again, the Institute of Microelectronics of Seville has been present at the Science Fair, which is now in its 24th edition
During May 6, 7, and 8, the event organized by the Andalusian Society for the Dissemination of Science (SADC) transformed the Seville Conference and Exhibition Centre into the epicenter of Andalusian science outreach. Its main objective was the exchange, dissemination, and communication of scientific knowledge among the educational community, the general public, and the research community.
On this occasion, the Institute of Microelectronics of Seville offered a diverse program for all audiences, focusing on programming and robotics.
Through workshops and practical demonstrations, we had the opportunity to present microelectronics in a fun and engaging way, sparking the curiosity and interest of attendees in the technology and its applications in everyday life.In addition to the activities at our stand, IMSE participated in the "Take a Peek into Science" micro-conference series organized by the Scientific Culture and Citizen Science Unit. Our colleague Marc Parrilla, a recipient of the Ramón y Cajal research grant, discussed the potential of bioelectronics and microneedles as tools capable of monitoring biomarkers and obtaining information about our health in a virtually painless way. Through the colloquium entitled "Goodbye to Needles! Microneedles and the Future of Invisible Health," attendees discovered how these tiny devices convert the body's chemical signals into data accessible via smart devices, bringing us closer to a new generation of minimally invasive diagnoses and analyses.
This annual science outreach event once again brought together thousands of people, solidifying its position as a key forum for bringing science closer to the public. Schools and educational centers were prominent among the audience in the mornings, while families attended in the afternoons.
